WHAT IS COLD BREW?
Cold brewed coffee is just that - coffee brewed without the use of heat. Sounds strange right? A perfect ratio of ground coffee is mixed with just the right amount of water and held in a temperature controlled environment for a full 18-24 hours, then double-filtered and bottled by hand. What's left is a beautiful, pure, bold liquid coffee very closely resembling the color of motor-oil. We allow a good amount of fine sediment to remain - so hence, we like to call it "sludge".
WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?
Cold brew has a very unique taste when compared to your average cup of coffee or espresso. Since there is not heat to chemically alter the brew, the roasted coffee's natural taste really comes through without the normal bitterness that most of us are accustomed to. The acid-content is kept very low, so it is exceptionally smooth, flavorful, and naturally slightly sweet without the bitter bite.
WHERE CAN I BUY IT?
Our signature brew, Single Fin Sludge, is available through our website and select retail outlets. We currently ship bottles direct to our customers via USPS. If you would like to place an order, please visit our online store here.
DO YOU OFFER ORGANIC COFFEES?
Yes. Seaworth Coffee Co. is committed to our planet, the health and well being of our customers, and most importantly, just trying to always do what's right. All of our products use 100% organic ingredients.
HOW MUCH CAFFEINE IS IN IT?
A single cup of our Single Fin Sludge can have up to 2 times the caffeine when compared to a regular hot brewed coffee. Approximately 320mg for our 12oz bottle.
CAN I DRINK IT HOT?
Of course! We know that sometimes you just can't beat a hot cup o' Joe. In order to not alter the delicate flavors of the cold brew process, we recommend heating your mixer first (milk, soy milk, water, etc.) then add your Single Fin Sludge to it.
DO YOU OFFER A DECAFFEINATED BREW?
Currently we don't have any caffeine-free offerings.
WILL IT MAKE ME SMARTER OR BETTER LOOKING?
While we don't have any actual facts or data to prove our theories, we here at Seaworth Coffee Company have found that drinking a cup of our cold brew daily will indeed make you a more intelligent, better looking and just all-around better person.
WHAT MAKES FOR A BETTER NOSERIDER, CONCAVE OR TAIL-ROCKER?
While totally subjective, many surfers / shapers might say a good noserider needs a little of both. We seem to prefer shallow concave, nicely foiled, low entry rocker logs with a good kick in the tail.
